The Ritual Table · Pilot
Games Night
Not every gathering needs a plan. This one needs a table cleared, whatever glasses match, and a drink in everyone's hand within ten minutes of the first person arriving — so the game starts before anyone's had time to feel awkward about being first.
The flight — one table, three ways in
The Cocktail
For whoever's all in tonight.
Spicy Margarita
spicy · citrus · sour
The Bridge
Low-proof, still worth savouring.
Aperol Spritz
bitter · fruity · citrus
The Zero-Proof
Same table, same energy, nothing missing.
Spicy Watermelon Margarita (NA)
watermelon · spicy · citrus
All three share the same register — citrus, a little heat, nothing precious — so whichever glass someone's holding, they're drinking the same night as everyone else.
The table
- Whatever glasses match — mismatched is fine, matching is not the point.
- A bowl for the losers' forfeits, a bowl for the good snacks, kept separate.
- One lamp on, overhead light off — the table should feel closer than the room.
- Both pitchers visible on the table, not staged in the kitchen — nobody should have to ask.
- A playlist that can be talked over. Nothing that demands to be listened to.
The toast
"To whoever wins — and to everyone who's about to lie about how good they are at this."
Timing
- –15 min
- Batch the margarita mix (tequila, lime, agave) and the NA version side by side — same jug technique, two jugs.
- –5 min
- Build the Aperol Spritz pitcher last — it wants to stay fizzy, not sit.
- 0 min
- First guest arrives. Pour immediately. Don't wait for everyone.
- +45 min
- Refresh salt rims and ice. This is the only "service" moment all night.

The Ritual Table is a new occasion-by-occasion strand — this games-night guide is the first one, built entirely from drinks already in the library. If it lands, more are coming.
