The Lab
Know the craft.
Before you pour.
Preparing a drink well is a ritual — and like any ritual, it rewards attention. This is where we teach the fundamentals: not to make bartending feel complicated, but to give everyone a confident starting point. The tools, the techniques, the ingredients. What each one does, and why it matters in the glass.
The ritual of preparing a beverage — any beverage — is one of the most accessible forms of craft available to anyone with a kitchen. It asks for attention, not expertise. Curiosity, not equipment. A willingness to understand what you're doing and why.
The Lab exists to give that understanding a home. Whether you're making your first Negroni or your hundredth zero-proof spritz, the same principles apply: the right glass changes the experience, the right ice changes the dilution, the right technique changes the texture. These are not refinements for the advanced. They are the basics — and the basics are where all good drinks begin.
We're building this section one topic at a time. Each page will go deep: the science, the craft, the practical application. For now, here's the map of what's coming.
